frequently asked questions

the name rish is a blend of our two founders’ names — but it carries even more meaning. It captures the sense of hustle and drive behind building a business we’re passionate about. and there’s a playful twist too: in cantonese, our accent sometimes turns “r” into “w,” so when you say “rish,” it can sound like“wish”— a little reminder of the dreams and roots that brought us here.

when we started rish, we wanted every coffee to be our favourite. that’s why we blind cup every samples, removing any bias about origin or varietal or it's score etc. so flavour speaks first.

we’re always searching for rare or lesser-known farms, varietals, and origins, driven by curiosity and a desire to share coffees you won’t easily find elsewhere. to keep our own passion alive — and yours too — we rotate our offerings every couple of months, making each coffee a small memorable adventure and every sip a discovery.

when we roast, it’s all about unlocking the potential of each coffee. we start with high-quality green beans and generally take a lighter approach, preserving the delicate aromatics that make each lot unique.

some coffees we roast lighter to highlight clarity and brightness; others get a bit more development to create more sweetness and depth. some we think it brew best as a filter coffee; others shine in espressos and some do well in both! every decision is made with care, guided by the character of the coffee itself.

our roastery is based in West London. it's a production location for now and not serving coffee or a retail point. we hope in the near future we can host workshops and tasting sessions at our base. keep an eye!

yes we do, within the UK for now. hit us up at hello@rishcoffee.com or at contact page for our wholesale catalog.

smaller bags help keep your coffee fresher and tasting its best. some of our lots are limited, so offering 100g and 250g lets more people enjoy them — without committing to a larger bag. it also means you can explore different coffees, buy only what you’ll use in a couple of weeks, and experience each one at peak flavour.

yes it is possible. please "send us your signal" during checkout, one of us will get in touch to know more about your grinding needs.

however, we recommend our customers to grind them at home. since once ground, coffee very quickly loses flavour. grind size is equally important with your brewing preferences and in how your coffee extracts and tastes. to make sure you get the most out of our coffees, we recommend purchasing whole beans.

coffee is a fresh, perishable product, we handle returns a little differently from other items. our goal is simple: if something’s wrong, we’ll make it right.

if your order arrived incorrect, incomplete or damaged, please contact us within 48h of delivery. we will sort it quickly, usually with a replacement or store credit.

any other order issue, our return policy is valid for 28 days. simply click "reply all" to the order confirmation email and describe your issue with photo (where possible). we will review and may offer a replacement, refund or credit, case by case.
